This is not easy to do. All of the paint is moving at once due to gravity. As one part is getting better another may be getting worse. Split second decisions and actions have to be made to keep the painting improving as a whole. Eventually, with the oil paint drying things slow down to a crawl or even stop. Ready or not, it is finished!
